The parents of a Dantry puppy are Canadian Champions whom have had their hips, heart, eyes, and thyroid health-tested and cleared. We have been developing and testing these Champion bloodlines for generations, so risk of expensive health issues like hip (or elbow) dysplasia or heart problems is very low.
The temperament of our breed is often described as loyal, courageous, gentle, and dignified; gentleness is their most cited trait and this is what we strive to produce. Our belief is that the strength and nobility of the Great Dane should be paired with grace and beauty.
The goal in breeding Great Dane show stock is to produce puppies that conform to our breed standard – not cross-bred looking dogs or skinny dogs without substance. We carefully manage our bloodline to create breeding dogs that will throw litters of big, strong dogs with long square heads and big jowls.
We find we save our families a great deal of money over the course of their dogs’ lives – not only because of our careful breeding to limit health problems, but also because we offer support for minor medical issues.
