This can be heard multiple times a day at our house.
I find that our two are just diggers….they dig up old stumps – which I am grateful for, but often I will come ouit and find a giant crater in the middle of the grass! URRRRGGGGH I do not know, I will scold them and down them and they won’t do for a while….but then it will happen again
Good luck – oh and they do not eat dirt or poo, but they definitely like to eat chunks of mulch.
Not easy that is for sure

Our Murphy was a digger for a period of time when he was younger. Someone (I can’t remember who) recommended filling the holes they make and their most common ‘digging spots’ with their own poop. We would just pick up a poop from the yard, put it in the hole and cover the hole back over with dirt. It totally worked. He stopped digging, and even now when he has a digging flashback, I just do the same thing and he stops. Now, he wasn’t a poop eater, so that worked for us. If Merlin is a poop eater, this may or may not work. Maybe worth a try though? 🙂
Nicole; GREAT tip! I will try that

P.S.: It was nice meeting you yesterday. I am sure you have a long day ahead of you 😉
